Jenkat Fixes 10.20.2007

For the rest of this month, we’re working to optimze JenkatGames.com fully before we go onto Phase II of development. We believe in making sure that everything works when we launch new features before we go onto other features. Rest assured, more online games and more features on Jenkat are coming.

Here’s a couple that have been rectified recently:

* A new personal high score (not in the Top 10) is now updating properly after each game.

* Challenge e-mails now have more information about the game and JenkatGames

* Clicking a received challenge from a friend now displays there score above the game while playing.

* Password strengh and matching first password process made more user friendly.

We’ll keep you updated. Oh, and as you might have seen in the Sweet Spot (on the homepage), Cafe Mahjongg online version is coming soon.

If You Need New Tires For Winter…

Discount Tire, probably my favorite automotive-related company, has a $100 off a set of new tires going on right now. With Old Man Winter on the way, might be a good time to update those tires and keep the kids safe.

We put on new tires a couple of months ago for the Mini-van of Love(tm). ;) And yes, we bought them from Discount Tire.

A Whole Lotta Love for Led Zeppelin

Starting this week, via Verizon Wireless, Led Zeppelin music will finally arrive in the digital age.  Verizon is making some Zeppelin ringtones available this week and all other digital music stores will roll out the bands eight albums in the coming weeks, including iTunes.

The three other HUGE artists that haven’t come into the digital world are The Beattles, Garth Brooks and AC/DC.  Though rumors persist that The Beattles music will be online by Christmas, and you have to figure that with Garth Brooks releasing some new music and doing, like, 400 shows in Kansas City this November, will result in his catalog coming online very soon.  As for Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap chaps… Who knows.  :(

Back to Zeppelin for a second… If you haven’t heard, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones are getting back together for a reunion show in London at Arena 02 in November.  Jason Bonham, the son of the late and original Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, will handle the drums.   Will that lead to a full reunion tour in 2008?  Jenkat purrs and smiles.

Microsoft Zune 30GB (Brown) for $100 w/free shipping

Microsoft Zune 30GB (Brown) for $100I know iPod’s are all the rage, yet this is a great deal on the Microsoft Zune.  The only drawback is that it won’t ship until around mid-November, but would make a nice Christmas present for yourself or someone in your family.

My sister-in-law wants an iPod for Christmas, but this has much more value as opposed to the iPod.  Is it at good as an iPod?  iPod users would say no, but I think it is.

Amazon has the the Zune for $100 with free shipping.

JT Scranton Style

Do you know what today is?  It’s Office Thursday!  At least that is what we call it here at the Jenkat Games compound.  We are all huge fans of The Office on NBC, so don’t be surprised if we get a little carried away with Office-related content on Thursdays.  ;)   Here is one of our favorite Office-related clips EVER.

Take ‘em to the chorus!

There’s No Noel Like This Noel

Josh Groban's NoelTypically, I would totally bag on any artist that chooses to release a Christmas CD in the first half of October – but since my favorite fudgie-eyed musical wonder Josh Groban has gone and done this very thing, I must resist my snarky nature and give him a pass.  C’mon, wouldn’t you?  Just take a look at this face…

Where was I?  Oh, yes - the best voice this side of heaven released a collection of Christmas music earlier this week, in plenty of time for the Halloween rush!  icon_rolleyes.gif  The album is called “Noel”, and it includes many of my personal yuletide favorites, such as – Ave Maria, What Child Is This?, The First Noel and Little Drummer Boy.

I have listened to a few snippets of these songs on iTunes, and my goosebumps had goosebumps.  Keep in mind that I am a devotee of Josh Groban and Christmas music, so for me this is like I dunno - money dipped in chocolate?  :)   I doubt I’ll be able to wait for the actual holiday season to purchase this one… perhaps not even the weekend.  Hey, if Christmas in October is good enough for WalMart, who am I to argue?  ;)

The Go-Go’s & Belinda Carlise

I must confess that I had a thing for Belinda Carlise back in the 80’s, especially after she went solo.  As for the time she poised in Playboy - Hey, there was a great article about the Sopranos in that issue!

By request… We Got The Beat!

Halloween Costumers On Sale at Disney Shopping

Mr. IncredibleDisney Shopping is offering up to 60% off of Halloween costumes, plus a coupon code 3799 that will give you another 15% off plus free shipping with coupon code COSTUMESHIP

They’re featuring everything from Jack Sparrow (for the boys) to Tinker Bell (for the girls) to The Incredibles (for us old folks).  The Disney stuff is great, but I’m thinking I’ll go as Billy Ray “The Mullet” Cyrus, since my neice can’t stop talking about and acting like Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus).

Garth Brooks Returns - WOW!

The Ultimate Garth BrooksIf you didn’t know, Garth Brooks has a new three-disced boxed set coming out on November 6th.  It’s called “The Ultimate Garth Brooks” and will also feature four new songs.  However, that’s not the big news.

This past Saturday Garth put tickets on sale for ONE show at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.  Two hours later, EIGHT (!!) more shows had been announced and a total of 160,000 tickets had been sold - All in KC and all at the Sprint Center this November.  WOW!

Oh, and his new single, “More Than A Memory” becomes the first country single ever to debut at #1 this week.

I remember I had just gotten my start in radio when Garth released his first album.  I was working at a country station in Wisconsin and I remember playing an album cut called “The Dance” (it hadn’t been released as a single yet).  After the song ended, I thought to myself, “Wow, what a great song.  I bet this guy is going to have a good career.”  Little did we know.  Except for that whole Chris Gaines thing, I’d have to say Garth Brooks is a hell of an entertainer.
