25th Anniversary Edition of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”

It’s been 25 years since Michael Jackson’s Thriller album was released and it looks like we’re going to get a special edition next year.  Hopefully we’ll see special editions of Snychronicity and Pyromania as well.  Anyway, back to Thriller, it appears none other than Akon (who?) and Kayne West (ugh!) will be doing special remixes of some of the songs on Thriller.  Oh dear.  Not only had Michael Jackson wrecked his career, he’s about to ruin one of the all-time great albums.  :(   It’s due out February 12th.

Remember when he was cool?  Here’s a video of Michael Jackson’s famous Motown performance of Billie Jean.

Christmasville Game Download

Christmasville Game DownloadJenkat Games, the place to play games, has added another holiday-themed game to the mix.  Of course, you’ll remember Holiday Gift.  This time around it’s a hidden object game called Christmasville.  The one thing we’ve learned so far in 2007 it that the game mechanic of the year has been hidden object type of games, so it makes perfect sense to have a new holiday-themed game in that genre.

Christmasville is a fun game that the whole family will be able to play.  Plus the developers mixed in some comedy, so not only will you have a great time playing the game, it’ll make you smile as well.  Dowload it today and buy it tomorrow…

Cindy’s Sundaes Game Download

Cindy's Sundaes Game DownloadCheck out Cindy’s Sundaes with a cherry on top now available at Jenakt Games, the place to play games.  From developer Viqua Games comes a new game that I thought at first was another time management-type of game (Diner Dash 4, Jane’s Hotel, et al), but turns out I was wrong.

Cindy’s Sundaes is a game similar to the recently released Heroes of Hellas.  It’s a slide your mouse to make a match three, but the best part of the game, I will admit, is creating your own sundae’s.  I created TC’s Hot Taste of Love and it went over like gangbusters, especially with the female customers.  What were my special ingredients?  That’s my secret! ;)

Cindy’s Sundaes is a fun game.  Download it today and buy it tomorrow!

El Dorado Quest Game Download

El Dorado Quest Game DownloadJenkat Games, the place to play games, has just add a new download game called El Dorado Quest.  The game was created by GameXzone and it’s a solid match 3 game.  If you like the Jewel Quest series of games from iWin, then I think you’ll enjoy this game.

In case you’re wondering, El Dorado is Spanish for “the glided one.”  You learn something new everyday, right?  Or maybe you knew that.

Post Holiday Solution

Have you spent the entire day guzzling coffee and eating sugar, in the hopes of boosting your post holiday energy levels?  Yeah, me too.  Must be a case of what I like to call the post Thanksgiving feast “Turkey Trance”, compounded by a case of the Mondays.

If you are feeling as tired as I am, here is an idea to help you save a little strength by taking a short cut with tonight’s dinner entrée!

Step One - Order a cheese pizza.

Step Two - Top with Thanksgiving leftovers!  Doesn’t this look yummy?

Ehhh, maybe not so much.  Perhaps if I removed the green beans?  ;)

R.I.P. Kevin DuBrow

Today reports have surfaced announcing the death of Kevin DuBrow - not exactly a household name, but in my book, definitely an icon of 80’s hard rock.

DuBrow was the charismatic, curly coiffed frontman for the group Quiet Riot, best known for hard rock hits like “Cum On Feel The Noize”, “Bang Your Head (Metal Health)” and “Mama We’re All Crazee Now”.  He was reportedly found by friends in his Las Vegas home yesterday, and at this time no cause of death has been released.  Sadly, DuBrow was only 52 years old.

Although my personal preferences tend to lean toward the more melodic, poppy side of rock, I had great respect for and was a fan of Quiet Riot.  I was given my first Walkman cassette player in junior high school, and Quiet Riot’s “Metal Health” album was the first cassette I ever listened to on that Walkman.  Great stuff for a rebelious young girl of a ‘jukebox generation’.

As another little piece of my youth slips away, I send my condolances to the fans, friends and family of Kevin DuBrow - he will be missed.  In memoriam, here is a little something for the “wild and the young”… is that Wink Martindale I spy?

Dancin’ In The Dark

When Bruce Springsteen released his Born in the USA album back in 1984, I was 15.  And it was a great album.  Since then I haven’t really listened to any Springsteen, perhaps its because there’s nothing more fun (…) than a celebrity and their political views.  To paraphrase Homer Simpson:  “Celebrities… is there anything they don’t know!”  ;)

Lots of great songs off that 1984 album from Bruce Springsteen including Glory Days and the title track.  However, this one will always probably be my favorite.  Plus its got Friends’ Courtney Cox (”I KNOW!”) in it.  The video was shot at the St. Paul Civic Center in St. Paul, Minnesota during three sold out nights in July of 1984.  St. Paul was my old stomping grounds and I saw a few shows at the Civic Center there including Loverboy and Van Halen (two different shows) - Woo, Loverboy!  The Civic Center was torn down in the 90’s and replaced with the new Xcel Energy Center, home of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild.
