Regarding the Finders Keepers bug we blogged about last week - it appears that we misunderstood how the scoring works, and our game programmer has been kind enough to explain to us that this is actually not a bug - just a lapse in communication.
We apologize that the objective and scoring for this level was not explained as clearly as it should have been. At this time we will not be fixing the current online version, as this problem will soon be irrelevant, when we release the new online version of the game (announced here a couple of days ago), called Finders Keepers: The Bahamas.
In the meantime, here is an explanation from our programmer:
That “bug” on the last of level of Finder’s Keepers isn’t actually a bug. Here is the description for the level objective - ”Rescue the polar bears. Score $500 for each polar bear that safely makes it to the end of the level.”
There are a total of 4 polar bears on that level that can be rescued - meaning you can only score a maximum of $2000 for that level if ALL 4 polar bears make it to the end of the level. You don’t get points each time you rescue a polar bear, you only get points if that polar bear is still on the ice sheet at the end of the level.
If you catch a polar bear 10 times but you only have 2 polar bears remaining on the ice sheets at the end of the level, you would get $1000 (2×500). You wouldn’t get $5000 (10X500).
I hope this helps, as this scoring and objective information does apply to the download version, as well. If you have any more questions or comments, please feel free to contact Jenkat support.
