Okay, there are a lot of reasons… but when you watch something like this (see below) , it reinforces how amazingly athletic and resilient our Olympic athletes are, and how stupid some of us regular joes are. Don’t you just love someone willing to try anything once, especially with a camera running?
And… a side note of congrats to the real atheletes, the 2008 Olympic medal winners – especially YOU, Michael Phelps! As they say — kids, don’t try this at home!

Would you believe that the temperature in Colorado Springs (a.k.a., the location of the Jenkat Games bunker) is only 41 degrees today? It’s dreary and wet, and I am in no mood for it. I must be lacking in Vitamin D.
And to make matters worse, my allergies appear to be out of control today - the runny nose, scratchy throat, watery eyes, the whole deal. Doesn’t that just figure? Ah well, at least this little guy can relate. And since my mom is in town visiting Jenkat headquarters, I can sneak up behind her just when I am about to sneeze, and get my jollies at the expense of her similar reaction:

Well, I guess this would explain why Angela Kinsey’s character (Angela Martin) has been hiding behind a desk since The Office returned to the airwaves post-strike:
Many congrats and best wishes to the happy couple! In honor of the blessed event, you know I cannot resist posting an Office-related clip - actually, it is a song and a montage - but a great tribute, starring none other than new momma Angela in some of her funniest moments.

Some days Jovi just needs herself a Hall & Oates fix. And a good laugh - like the belly laugh I get when I see the dude in this video playing some huge drums, man! I’ll bet Jason Castro often has visions reminiscent of a Hall & Oates video, but that might be a topic for another day. I also love how John Oates refuses to be upstaged by Daryl Hall… just watch for the cartwheels!
Now, get ready to “Dance on your knees!” Ouchie.

I know there has to be some other 80’s ladies lurking about here on Jenkat that share my affection for tall, dark and handsome (with dimples) - so I just had to post this for those that dig Rick Springfield like I do…
Well, it’s that time again on American Idol where we self-appointed talent critics get to put our snarky hats on the rack and connect with our generous and emotional sides… yes, I have one. Don’t let our resident Finders Keepers addict Leigh tell you any different.
I am actually really excited for the shows this week. I thought last year’s Idol Gives Back show was well done, and I actually found it much more entertaining than the much-hyped finale. This season’s should be just as good, as the stars scheduled to appear (and I am fairly certain they did, as the show was taped Sunday night) include: Brad Pitt, Miley Cyrus, Robin Williams, Eli and Peyton Manning, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, Reese Witherspoon — and, my personal American Idols — Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart. Unfotunately for me, Fergie is performing with them, and apparently does some gymnastic-ish moves during the performance? Guess if you can’t sing like Ann Wilson, it takes a little creative performing to get you noticed. Might be worth trying, especially if your name is Kristy Lee Cook… just sayin’.
Anyway, to get us back on track and in the charitable frame of mind, here is a clip of my favorite performance from the IGB shindig last year - Josh Groban singing “You Raise Me Up” with the African Children’s Choir:
I thought a little April Fools Day humor would be appropriate today - (duh, Jovi) - besides, I love these guys… they remind me of my Jenkat colleagues TC and Eric - Top Gun sunglasses and all!
Do not try this at home, kids! May you have a safe, happy and funny April Fool’s Day!

Don’t know who these guys are? Well, don’t feel bad, most people don’t, as their claim to fame is winning a reality talent show that nobody watched.
That show was The Next Great American Band, which aired last summer on the FOX Network. I watched this show the whole way through, in spite of the fact that most of the bands in the competition stank on ice! My boyfriend Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls was a judge, after all. *sigh*The Clark Brothers were definitely a shining exception, and I predicted they would win from the get-go. And they did!
The point of all this? Well, according to a FOX press release, they will be performing on American Idol next week. While I am not a huge fan of bluegrass and country music, I loooove Dolly, and The Clark Brothers can really PLAY. Plus, they are pretty. Check the evidence below:
A side note: I noticed Clark brother Austin playing dobro during Chikezie’s performance last week - so he must have a “day job” with Rickey Minor’s band.
