I see a McMocha in your future…
Can’t get enough bold, delicious coffee beverages served in a paper cup with a cardboard sleeve… coupled with the convenience of ordering it from a drive-thru? Well, Starbucks should be watching their backs, because the mighty fast-food corporation McDonald’s wants a piece of that consumer pie.
By 2009, McDonald’s plans to start adding coffee bars to their restaurants - including Baristas and all the delightfully addicting caffeinated beverages one could wish for. Smart move on McDonald’s part, and I think they may just be the company that can finally give Starbucks a little competition. It makes a perfect “cafe” environment for women caring for young children - the kids romp and play in PlayLand, while mommy catches up with her friends over a frothy cappucino… sounds like 30 minutes of convenient bliss to me!
Plus, McDonald’s is off to a great start with the rebranding of their coffee about a year or two ago - their regular ol’ java is one of my current favorite coffees on-the-go, so I look forward to seeing what they offer in a full-fledged coffee bar. Yumma yumma yumma!
Check the Jenkat blog again tomorrow, when I plan to post my Top 5 coffee drinks, and look for you to share your favorites, as well!
